Ettore Vitali, PhD

Spiritual Director

Pastor

Chaplain

I'm a perpetual seeker. Teachers and mentors have called me a prophet, mystic, and poet. All I know is that I feel I’m still very much on the way, seeking a deeper sense, a closer relationship, and a more perfect union with the Divine.  Along the way, I feel called to help others along their way.

My privilege and responsibility is to journey with you, supporting you as you seek and respond to the Divine Call you hear.

I don't impose my will or agenda.  Instead, I listen carefully to the unfolding of your life and discern with you where the Divine might be leading.

The journey takes place as we sit together in regularly scheduled sessions usually about an hour long.  With me, you will receive unconditional acceptance, complete confidentiality, steady prayer and tender care.

I’m on the roles of the Honorably Retired ordained ministers in the Presbyterian Church (USA). I’ve served as a pastor and a chaplain.

I received a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (2001). I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Central College (1980).

I completed two years of spiritual direction training in 2016 with Stillpoint: The Center for Christian Spirituality at Ghost Ranch, NM. I'm a member of Spiritual Directors International and abide by its ethical standards.

I particularly enjoy creating and leading retreats. I write poetry, especially when traveling. I enjoy being in nature, hiking and camping. Among my many spiritual practices, I'm finding solace in the Eight Silk Brocades of Qigong.

Yoga and Meditation Teacher

Ayurvedic Health Counselor

Health Coach

I am a strong believer and advocate of a holistic approach to life and health. I believe in the huge benefits of a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced nutrition, physical activity and stress management. I could witness in my own body and mind the huge benefits of Yoga, including breathing techniques from Pranayama, Ayurveda (an ancient discipline that focuses on lifestyle and nutrition) and meditation. I am a RYT-500 Yoga Teacher, an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and a Health Coach. I also have my own practice of bodywork, including massage therapy, myofascial release, and Reiki. I would love to walk with you on your journey toward healing and well-being. I wish to help you create a personalized path, discussing with you all aspects of healing, from nutrition to deep breathing, including physical exercise.

When I am not working, I love exercising and spending time outdoor in the mountains, hiking and climbing.

Yoga Nidra and Meditation Teacher

Associate Professor of Physics

I am a researcher and a seeker. Through my life, my spontaneous desire to explore the mysteries of "who we are?", "what is all this?" ... has led me through a wonderful journey of inquiries and insights, where my scientific background as a quantum physicist "met" intuitive wisdom and my understanding of sacred teachings.

A few years ago I found myself struggling with stress and deep anxiety and I discovered the importance of meditation and contemplative practices as a way to approach life.

I started then to feel the desire to help others who struggle with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual challenges. This induced me to become a Level 1 Integrative Restoration Yoga Nidra teacher and I plan to continue my journey: my hope is to be able to share with others what really helped me when I most needed it. I wish to meet people where they are, in the truth of the moment.

I am currently an Associate Professor of Physics at California State University, Fresno. I am also currently serving as Elder for Spiritual life at University Presbyterian Church in Fresno California.

Finally, I love nature, and my favorite way to spend my free time is hiking, rock climbing and  skiing.
